INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY CELEBRATION - 2020
Judges for various cultural events are invited from Meenakshi College of Engineering and Faculty of Humanities and Science.
The program started with the prayer song followed by welcome speech given by Mrs.SugasriSureshkumar,Assistant Professor, Faculty of Physiotherapy. She welcomed the dignitaries, faculties&students and mentioned the importance of women in the society and the need to celebrate women’s day .
Cultural events like Mime, Dual dance &Debate were performed by students of faculty of physiotherapy.
The concepts of the cultural events are given below: Mime – confidence of women after death of husband in war to bring up her child Dualdance - mother’s encouragement to a girl child who has been harassed to become a successful woman in her life.
Debate “who is a better decision maker in a family – whether father or mother”.
Dr. RADHIKA BHARATH with more than 13 years of experience, who had worked in Pennalam (A women’s cancer care foundation) and in an autistic organization (Enable Scotland) is now running Emerging Fit Physiotherapy Centre judged the debate.
Dr. RADHIKA BHARATH Dr. Radhika Bharath who is the chief guest of the function addressed the gathering mentioning the ways a female can be harassed and how a woman must safeguard herself in such situations, how to maintain individuality and to be courageous and how to set examples to others and to maintain their own fitness.
The valedictary function was honored by the valuable presence of Pro Vice chancellor Prof. Dr. T. Kannan and Registrar Prof. Dr. R. S. Rajasekar .The diginitaries are requested to distribute the prices for winners and runners for various cultural events held on 2nd and 3rd March 2020.
